Massage Therapy

I provide therapeutic or wellness massage therapy. My treatment style is both therapeutic while relaxing. Your goals for your massage therapy treatment can vary and are discussed prior to your treatment. I provide you with a personalized treatment that caters to your specific needs. Prenatal & Postnatal Massage

Massage during your pregnancy is generally safe and can help with pain management and decreasing tension. Prenatal massage is safe during all trimesters. During my 3 year program at Algonquin College, I took the prenatal outreach where I got further skills and knowledge. My knowledge and experience ensures that I can provide a safe and effective treatment during your pregnancy. Have further questions? Feel free to reach out to me. Child Massage Therapy

For ages 1-12.

Treatments can either be 30 or 45 minute appointments. Children can experience various benefits from massage, just like adults. Massage therapy for children can also be a good way to learn safe touch. Communication is a big part of the appointment and I work closely with the child to ensure they are comfortable and feel heard. Parents can stay in the room if this is what is most comfortable with the child. Appointments can be for therapeutic treatment or to increase wellness. Goals will be discussed during the appointment. The appointment time includes a health history interview, assessment, treatment, and go home instructions. I use a variety of massage techniques to achieve the set goals. Youth Massage Therapy

For ages 13 - 17.

Appointment times can be scheduled for 30, 45 and 60 minutes. The appointment can be for therapeutic treatment or to increase wellness. Goals will be discussed during your appointment. Your appointment time includes a health history interview, assessment, treatment, and go home instructions. I use a variety of massage techniques to decrease tension, pain, and improve range of motion. Pressure can vary from light to deep and this is negotiated with each client based on their preferences.

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

Deep tissue massage is used for athletes or when the deeper musculature requires specific manipulation. If you are looking for deep pressure, I would recommend that you book a massage therapy appointment. Appointment lengths can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

Infant Massage Therapy

For ages 0 months - 1 years old.

A 45 minute appointment is recommended for the first visit. Appointment times can be 30 minutes or 45 minutes.

These appointments are to provide baby massage and to teach parents how to do massage at home. Massage can help with bonding, sleep regulation, colic and gas, and wellness of babies musculoskeletal system. The appointments include a health interview, assessment, informed consent, treatment and go home instructions. Treatment can be done by me or the parent(s). I encourage the parent(s) to provide hands on while I demo with the doll to allow for bonding. This appointment is designed to match the needs of the infant and the parents. Both or one parent(s) are welcome.

Please note that your appointment time includes your intake, assessment, treatment, home care instructions / treatment planning/ discharge instructions. Abusive, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Please note that I do have a 24hr cancellation policy. Appointments that are cancelled without 24 hours’ notice may be subjected to the cancellation fee. If you do not respect the 24-cancellation policy, a credit card on file will be required for further bookings. The fee structure for last minute cancellations and no shows are as follows:

1st Occurrence = 0% of the appointment cost (This is to allow flexibility and understanding that sometimes things happen)

2nd Occurrence = 50% of the appointment cost

3rd Occurrence and onward = 100% of the appointment cost

Arriving late to your appointment will take time out of your scheduled time. Thank you for your understanding.

What To Expect and FAQs

Whether you this is your first massage or you are well versed with massage therapy. This is what you can expect for your first appointment with me.

For each initial visit, we start with discussing your health history form (health interview). This can take anywhere from a 5 -15 minutes. I ask about what your goals are and ask further questions to help me understand what may be happening. This more detailed interview process is not done with every visit.

Next, an assessment will be done when I require more information and to develop a clinical hypothesis. This can take up to 10 minutes and varies on the complexity of the injury or impairment.

Once I have all the information that I need, we will walk through what will be done in the treatment. I will explain how I negotiate the pressure and to ensure you feel comfortable. This is the most important stage as it is done to gain your informed consent for treatment.

I reserve the last 5 minutes of your appointment to allow you time to get off the table, get dressed, and go through home care instructions.

What should I wear or bring? I use draping to keep you safe and secure. I always work within your comfort level. Treatment can normally be done with clothing on, over the draping or directly on the skin. Draping will always be used to keep areas that aren't being worked on draped.

Why do I have to fill out the health history form/ Is it important that I list all required sections? It is a requirement from my regulatory body to have you complete a health history form. Registered Massage Therapists are Regulated Health Care Practitioners and must adhere to the RHPA. Ensuring that you have taken the time to properly fill out all the required information is most important to ensure your health and safety is maintained. Even though you may not think it isn't related to your massage, it is important for me to have the full picture of your health history. This helps ensure that your treatments are effective and safe.

What payment methods do you accept? I accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Debit, eTransfer, and cash.
